Advanatge is for the treatment of flea infestations in cats, dogs and rabbits and for the treatment of biting lice in dogs. Advantage contains imidacloprid, which acts on the nervous system of the flea to cause paralysis and subsequent death. Advantage stops biting fleas in three to five minutes and starts to kill adult fleas within an hour after application. Advantage kills fleas before they lay eggs, so their life cycle is broken at multiple stages. It also kills flea larvae within 20 minutes of contact. One treatment prevents further flea infestation on dogs for up to four weeks, three to four weeks on cats and up to one week on pet rabbits. The product can be used as part of a treatment strategy for flea allergy dermatitis in the cat and the dog. The treatment should be repeated after 4 weeks.
Advantage 40 = cats, dogs and rabbits under 4kg.
Advantage 80 = cats and rabbits over 4kg.
Advantage 100 = dogs 4-10kg.
Advantage 250 = dogs 10-25kg.
Advantage 400 = dogs 25-40kg.
