Ketofen 5mg Tablets provide effective treatment for chronic cases of musculo-skeletal inflammation in dogs, such as degenerative joint disease. Commonly referred to as Osteoarthritis, degenerative joint disease is a progressive, long-term deterioration of the cartilage surrounding joints, which causes stiffness and long periods of inactivity. Ketofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) effective in controlling the pain and inflammation associated with Osteoarthritis in dogs.
When given as directed by your vet, the active ingredient, Ketoprofen, produces anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects by affecting hormone production. By working at a hormonal level, Ketofen tablets are useful in the management of post-operative pain associated with soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries in dogs.
Ketofen 5mg Tablets are manufactured by Merial and developed specifically for dogs. As such, they must never be used in other animals.
