Prednisolone is a corticosteroid that is particularly useful following surgery in cats and dogs. It reduces and prevents inflammation by suppressing the immune system to modify the body's response to inflammation and allergens. This can be helpful for skin, eye, ear, and musculo-skeletal complaints that can result in pain and swelling.
When given as directed by your vet, the active ingredient has extensive effects in the body. It mimics a naturally occur hormone, cortisol, to regulate the immune system response to inflammation.
Prednisolone 1mg Tablets are manufactured by Douglas Pharmacuticals and developed specifically for dogs. As such, they must never be used in other animals.
